kta preservation specialists prepared a Part 1 and National Register nomination for Buffalo Public School 44. The building was designed in two stages, first in 1907 by city architect Howard Beck and then a substantial addition was designed in 1930 by Buffalo Board of Education architect Ernest Crimi. The research and documentation provided by kta preservation specialists will be instrumental in enabling the reuse project to be supplemented by historic tax credits, and will guide the rehabilitation of the building as construction begins.
